Shawn Anthony
Shawn Black was born in Columbus, Ohio, where his journey in the kitchen began. Watching and assisting his Aunt's cook meals for family gatherings. Shawn graduated High School in 1986 and soon after joined and served 4 years in the United States Navy. During his travels overseas, Shawn became fascinated with various cuisines and cooking techniques abroad. After serving out his enlistment Shawn began working for Federal Express where he went on to have a 20 year career. During this time Shawn regularly sold lunch and dinner plates to co workers and customers. In 2005 Shawn Culinary passion led him to start his Barbecue catering business. Specializing in Smoked ribs, Pulled pork, Beef Brisket and his Famous Barbecue Sauce! Shawn named his Catering business Big Ronnies Barbecue as a tribute to his late Father ( Ronald Black) affectionately known as Big Ronnie. After a successful 13 year catering career, Shawn decided to enhance and fulfill his lifelong passion by attending New School of cooking Culinary Arts School in Culver City, CA. Obtaining a Professional degree in Culinary Arts in 2018. Today Shawn works as a Professional Chef offering Personal, Private and Traveling Chef Services. When Shawn is not cooking he enjoys spending time with his 3 Beautiful Daughters, fishing and attending live music and sporting events.
